The Problem:
Aesthetics are understandably a concern for this company when searching for an acoustic solution. Within these offices there is a relatively large meeting room. The combination of pitched ceiling and reflective plaster and glass surfaces resulted in a high amount of reverberation and very poor speech intelligibility. The challenge was to come up with a solution which would not compromise the aesthetics or the perceived volume of the space.
The Solution:
Reverberation analysis was carried out for all rooms in question and the amount of absorption required to meet optimal reverberation was specified. Since it was important not to compromise the aesthetics of this building, the primary product used to increase the absorption in these spaces was a minimalist white ceiling panel which was modified as a wall panel. In addition large acoustic panels were suspended from the ceiling between the beams following the pitch of the ceiling in order to maintain the volume of the space.
The Results:

Comments by Staff:
"I came in this morning amazed at the difference in the room; the panels look very stylish and have an amazing effect on acoustics and sound of the room. Thank you very much for all your work in this project and I’ll certainly be recommending Screens at Work to anyone in the future."
